2017 Chevy Camaro ZL1 has line lock feature just like the Ford Mustang
Well, it seems Chevy is copying Ford yet again. Ford got good press from enthusiasts by offering a factory line lock on the Mustang GT. Chevrolet decided it was a good idea (it is a great idea) to offer a line lock on the Camaro ZL1 which will make it easy to heat the rear tires.
Considering the torque output of the supercharged LT4 V8 the only way one is going to get traction off the line when launching is with prepped tires. That means a nice, big, hot, and sticky burnout. Obviously it will pay the greatest dividends with drag rubber.
This is very cool of GM which also will not void warranties for track days. A day at the drag strip counts as a track day, right?
