codes 29f2 29dc thinking it is hpfp

okay so i have a e60 08 535i n54 muffler delete dci jb4 g4 (yes i know its old just go it for a great price so i thought why not for now)

i have been getting codes 29dc and always have the 29f2 for the last week now and the car would crank 3-5 seconds to start and reduce engine power will come on right away and there is a big difference in power the car basically has none i changed the firmware on the jb4 problem still there and also lowered the fuel open loop and no difference i don't have bunch logs because the car was running like shit first log is a 3rd gear and then the car stuttered almost like a 2 step and stopped and second run is a second gear i know thats not ideal but thats all i could get at the time and same thing happened

Do you have INPA?
Could be a faulty injector or LPFP or the HPFP as you're saying. Check with INPA and look for injector levels.

if you're getting both codes everytime you go on WOT with reduced engine power half light on IDRIVE and that is after clearing the codes before, the problem is the HPFP itself. I experienced that twice ( 2 HPFP in 6 months and I run pure E85 ) where it was not clear even on logs of the high pressure value. Sorry to say that but its the HPFP itself, it won't let you go WOT if you don't replace it. The obvious code is 29DC.

My suspect is that our high moisture environment causing internal corrosion of some sort to the HPFP unit. Fingers crossed my 3rd unit has held up well so far!

Don't apologize for your car. It is an awesome drive, you'll enjoy it a lot, trust me.
And highly moddable by now :)

Long start up cranks are a telltale sign for a HPFP problem, long before you start experiencing drivability issues.
The pump can no longer hold the pressure, and it gets worse and worse until it ends up where you are now.
Put the JB4 in map0 and have the HPFP replaced.
With some luck you'll even get a coulance discount at the dealer's.

Moved to the N54 section where you will get better help.

N54 HPFP are under an extended 10 year/120K miles factory warranty from BMW. Take all your mods off. Fill up with 93, not E85. Dealer can deny it if they find mods/tuner/high ethanol content(no more than 10%).
