Audi continues their epic butthurt over BMW's laser headlights, now claims 'fastest car with laser headlights'
Audi often tries to take shots at BMW through their marketing and ends up looking, well, foolish. This is another one of those times where Audi should have just kept quiet. Audi made a huge stink over their special edition LMX R8 which they tried to rush to market so they could take the title of first production car with laser headlights. The i8 was supposed to launch in August but BMW kept its mouth shut and started delivering i8's before Audi delivered their LMX R8's.
This led to Audi now having to change their press release and now they claim to have the, 'Fastest production car with laser beam headlights.' Audi, seriously, give it a rest. Especially considering launching the LMX which is just a modified R8 in order to steal BMW's thunder made Audi look petty to begin with.
It is the billboard ad saga all over again where Audi provokes BMW only to get slapped down hard. Not to mention all i8's have laser headlights. BMW did not just take a car they were already producing, add laser headlights, and then try to claim some arbitrary title. BMW actually is producing all i8's with these headlights meaning they still have the first series production car to incorporate this technology completely even if Audi adds the lights to the R8 which has not always had laser headlights.
BMW wins this one again Audi.
