apparently the Tesla Model S is the safest car on the road. Tesla put this vid on their website of one of their customers run-in with an E60 M5. the M5 driver was some retard teenager that zipped right through a stop sign in an intersection at night. the Tesla was clearly rolling though his stop sign as a proper stop is, look left, right, left again, assure you are stopped for at least 2 seconds and proceed. this guy was too busy paying attention to his passengers and rolled through the stop sign, and he SHOULD have seen (as well as heard, S85 is loud) the M5. what happens is the M5 barely misses the Tesla but the Tesla clips the guy in the rear panel, sending the M5 flipping and rolling and finally stopped by a tree. thank god BMW M builds solid cars, the kid came out bruised up and that's about it really. probably a concussion. nothing serious. no way am i condoning this kid's reckless behavior, he had what was coming to him. but the driver of the Tesla is partially at fault as well.
everyone knows hybrid owners are smug as shit. this guy is so convinced that the kid in fact hit him, and because of this small little clip his car is the safest thing to ever exist. "I am convinced that fortuitous timing and the solid construction of my Tesla Model S saved our lives, the lives of another couple and prevented four young children from being orphaned." really? M5 took the flips and rolls and tree hit like a champ.
