Volkswagen denies Formula 1 rumors and says it is only concentrating on WRC
Well, seems the German publication Sport Bild that stated Volkswagen was contemplating entering Formula 1 was nothing more than a rumor designed to get attention. Volkswagen reiterated the report we published in April stating that their focus is on the World Rally Championship and they have no intention to enter Formula 1. VW exec Stefan Moser stated, "Nothing has changed since our last statement. We are continuing to focus on the WRC. Entering formula one is not an issue for us right now."
So that shoots down the rumor. The question becomes though is this strictly regarding the Volkswagen brand or the group as a whole? For now, Volkswagen and no other brand they own has stated any intention of racing in F1.
