Hello, I have been experiencing the same issue (that the application closes when I click "ID ECU"). Unfortunately, I'm new around here, and my forum-cred is 'nil... meaning I can't message @trevorlee02 directly. Hopefully you can point me in the right direction. Thanks!
im having an issue downloading on Edge and Chrome?
tried again, still no luck.
Maybe I'm downloading the wrong link or something?
Got it now,
Thanks very much for your help.
Avi
App closes any time i try to ID ECU now. I've had the back end flash on the car before but took it off for some diagnostic. Now I'm having a hard time reloading it with a new laptop.
Thanks once again,
Avi
yup same problem
Hey mate - can you let me know what Windows did you create the program for?
Everyone else - when you install programs within Windows 10 you can change compatibility mode. Once Sticky lets us know I can try and let everyone know whether it worked or not.
On another note I was trying to do a backend flash the other day and have made an absolute meal out of it - the car has been down for three weeks now as Im waiting for couple parts so I can try to fix it......originally I was going to do the backend flash through MHD but didnt have the right cable / I do have a Bavarian Technic cable and since BimmerBoost was compatible with the cable I thought I would give it a shot...I tried downloading the latest BB app but no luck (same issues as noted above)....I opted to downloading one of the earlier BB versions which opened ok.....I managed to read the original ECU with JB4 turned off...once I started to write the backend flash the BB crashed and the rest is history....Im currently waiting on Ctek charger (originally used friends charger / battery is now completely gone) and BimmerGeeks cable....I've read some posts on this issues but have you guys experienced this and did you manage to "reset" the ECU back to original set up i.e. was it an easy fix or a pain in the ass to fix!?
Yes, this was designed under XP originally.
I think maybe this is the problem and you're right as it is Windows 10 guys having problems.
Would you try the compatibility mode and let us know how it goes? @trevorlee02
